Why Uremia Patients Had Better not Eat Oranges

Why had uremia patients better not eat oranges?
Oranges are fruit which contains various vitamins, which do good to our body. However, for patients who have developed into uremia stage, they are suggested not to have oranges. Why? In uremia stage of chronic kidney disease, patients usually have disorder of electrolyte, so the potassium in the blood will increase. Oranges are fruit which contains rich potassium. If potassium in the blood is high, the heart beat will become slow, which can lead to the sudden of heart beat, or shock, threatening the life of patients. The glomerular filtration rate decreases for patients with uremia, the function of renal tubules decreases, which lead to the fact that the discharge ability of potassium decreases. So we get a conclusion that uremia patients can not have oranges.

In addition, bananas also contain rich potassium, the amount of which should also be forbidden for patients with uremia stage.
