cold at their dialysis centers. Follow us to see the details.
1. Blood temperature
The dialysis sends your blood through the dialyzer, filters out wastes and
toxins and then sends the clean blood back into your body. When the blood is
outside of the your body, it becomes cool. But when it flows through the
dialyzer alongside the dialysate solution, it warms up again. The temperature of
dialysis solution, as well as your body temperature is taken into consideration
during the treatment.
2. Anemia
Anemia can make you cold. Aside from making you feel tired, anemia can also
make you feel cold. Low iron can also be a reason why you feel chilly.
3. Lack of movement
Patients sit and dialyze usually between three and four hours and the lack of
movement may tend to exacerbate the cold. If you are uncomfortable, talk to your
nurse to find out if an adjustment can be made to the thermostat.
What to do for cold in dialysis patients?
Pay attention to clothing
If it is summertime, bring a jacket or loose sweatshirt with you. Wear a hat
which helps prevent heat from escaping at the top of your head. Put a warm
attire in a total bag and keep it in the car or near your front door so you can
bring it to the dialysis center.
Repair injured kidney tissues and improve renal function
The radical way is to repair your injured kidney tissues and improve renal
function. Once your renal function can be improved, anemia can disappear and
also dialysis can also be reduced. In this way, cold and other complications
from dialysis like low blood pressure and infection can all get relieved. We use
unique Chinese medicine therapies like Micro-Chinese Medicine Osmotherapy,
Medicated Bath, Medicated Foot Bath, Medicinal Soup, Moxibustion Therapy and
Steaming Therapy, etc. But foreign patients need to come to China for
treatment.
