Urine test:
This test mainly focuses on proteinuria(Proteinuria and Kidney Disease) and hematuria. In normal cases, there is no protein in urine, but it can leak into urine if kidneys are damaged. Generally, patients with proteinuria can progress at a twice speed than patient without proteinuria with regard to renal function decline. As to hematuria, it includes gross hematuria and microscopic hematuria(Hematuria and Kidney Disease). There are so many causes of hematuria like kidney disease, urinary stone and cancer etc.
Blood test:
In this test, Serum Creatinine(Scr, High Creatinine Levels) and Blood Urea Nitrogen(Bun) are very important. The normal value of Scr is 36-132μmol/L. Creatinine is the metabolic waste of muscle, and it can be discharged out of human body with urine in normal condition. But it can not make it under condition that kidney function has declined greatly, they accumulate in blood. Certainly, there is a great difference about Scr level, which is associated with the quantity of muscles, individual and gender difference.Generally the normal level for BUN is 1.7-8.3mmol/L, urea nitrogen is a metabolic waste which is from protein decomposition. Similarly, it can be expelled with urination under normal condition and it will stay in blood when kidney declines greatly and fails to work properly.
Besides, imaging examination are also widely applied in the examination, such as X-ray, Type-B ultrasound Examination, CT, and MRI, they can detect kidney’s size, outline, stone and tumor etc. In some cases, patients need to take renal biopsy to further diagnose its pathological agent and illness condition.
