Some Chronic Kidney Disease(CKD) patients would suspect they get kidney disease once blood urine
appears in their urination. According to clinical observation, Hemouria can be
divided into renal hematuria and non-kidney blood urine. That is to say, not all
Hematuria(Hematuria and Kidney Disease) is caused by kidney disease.
Usually we can get a general analysis about this by the position of blood
urine. If blood urine emerge at the beginning of urination, also known as intial
hematuria, it can be concluded that there is something in the urethra; if blood
urine occurs in the end of urination, bladder must encounter some
infections.
Meanwhile, the majority of patients with renal blood urine present no
clotting and blood streak, except for IgA Nephropathy and Purpura Nephropathy.
Whereas clotting and blood streak is obvious in non-kidney blood urine.
Another principle is renal blood urine is usually adjoint with proteinuria,
edema, but not for non-kidney blood urine. If there is red cell cast was found
in the urinary sediment, it can be diagnosed as renal blood urine. Another
reliable method to distinguish them is by Phasecontrast Microscope, and if the
red cell is in normal shape, blood urine is caused by non-kidney problem; if red
cell shapes abnormally, it can be judged as kidney has problems.
In some case, Chronic Kidney Disease(CKD) patients would present transient hematuria which usually
happens when they are too exhausted or take some medicines. It is advisable to
take regular test to ascertain the cause of Hematuria so that pertinent
treatment can be given in time.
