Creatinine is a kind of toxins coming into being in human body and should be
discharged out of the body through the filtration of the kidney. So serum
creatinine is an important index which can show the kidney function in some
extent. Generally, the normal range of serum creatinine is 44 to 103 umol/L.
Low hemoglobin means low hemachrome, which is an important index which can
judge whether people are in the insufficiency of anemia. Due to all kinds of
factors, hemachrome is low in blood, which is called anemia. When serum
creatinine is high, or when patients are suffering from kidney disease, patients
can have low hemachrome. The detailed reasons are as follows:(More information about High Creatinine Level and Low Hemoglobin (HB) in PKD and Can Low Hemoglobin Cause High Creatinine)
Anemia caused by high creatinine or we can also say caused by kidney disease
can be divided into the following cases.
1. the lack of EPO
More than 90% of EPO is generated in kidney tissues. There is no doubt that
renal failure is the main reason which can cause anemia. Generally, the more
serious the kidney is, the less EPO will be.
2. growth inhibitory factors of red blood cells
In uremia stage, there will be some materials which can inhibit the
generation of red blood cells, which can influence the renal anemia. At present,
it is thought that there are at least 4 kinds of inhibitory factors.
3.The lifespan of red blood cells is short.
At present, many researchers in kidney disease field have proved it in
clinic. It is generally believed that the shortened lifespan of red blood cells
is caused by factors out of cells sometimes.
4. loosing blood.
In the end stage of kidney disease, about 25% of chronic kidney disease
patients will have obvious blood lost, which can worsen anemia. The main reason
is that the function of blood cells is blocked, which leads to the bleeding in
digestive tract and skin.
