What are the symptoms of Diabetic Nephropathy? At the early stage of Diabetic
Nephropathy, patients have no symptoms. They can only have high blood pressure.
The discharge amount of albumin is more than 200 microgram per minutes. This
stage is called latent kidney disease stage or early kidney disease stage. If
patients can control the blood pressure and high blood sugar, they can recover
soon. However, if the control is not good, the disease will develop into
clinical Diabetic Nephropathy and sometimes have the following
manifestations:
The first symptom of Diabetic Nephropathy is proteinuria. At first,
filtration pressure increases and the electric charge in the filtration membrane
changes, both of which lead to the occurrence of albumin in the urine, which is
called selective proteinuria. There is no increased globulin. This condition can
last for many years. With the increase of filtration pore of the renal
glomerular basilar membrane, big molecules can pass through. With the disease
develops, protein in urine turns continuous and serious protein in urine. If the
protein in urine is more than 3g per day, the prognosis will no be good. The
condition may develop progressively until they develop into Nephrotic
Syndrome.
The second symptom of Diabetic Nephropathy is edema. In the early stage,
patients can not feel edema. Some have slight edema before the plasma protein
decreases. When the protein in urine is more than 3g within 24 hours, edema will
appear. Obvious edema can be seen among those whose Diabetic Nephropathy
develops fast.
The third symptom of Diabetic Nephropathy is high blood pressure, which is
very common in patients with Diabetic Nephropathy. As a matter of fact, most
serious kidney disease can cause high blood pressure, and in turn, high blood
pressure can also worsen kidney disease. All in all, controlling blood pressure
is very important.
The fourth symptom of Diabetic Nephropathy is renal failure. Once patients
suffer from Diabetic Nephropathy, the course is progressive. And it not
controlled well, azotaemia and even uremia will take place.
The fifth symptom of Diabetic Nephropathy is anemia(Anemia and Kidney Disease). Patients with serious
azotaemia will have slight or moderate anemia. Chalybeate can not achieve
satisfactory effect. Anemia is due to the barrier of red blood cell production.
It may be related to the long time limitation of protein diet and azotaemia.
The last symptom of Diabetic Nephropathy is such as diabetic retinopathy,
which is often accompanied with Diabetic Nephropathy.
Since we have known about the symptoms of Diabetic Nephropathy, we should
take effective measures in time so as to avoid further damage.
