Dialysis is a traditional way of helping patients with Chronic Kidney Disease
(CKD). Mostly, when kidneys lose their ability of maintaining normal metabolism,
patients with CKD will choose dialysis. Then before undergoing dialysis, what
should patients do?
Firstly, avoid the occurrence of cardiovascular complications. Complications
such as high blood pressure, coronary disease, cardiac failure, angiosclerosis,
and apoplexy are easier to happen among patients with CKD. Patients with some
serious disease are not allowed to undergoing dialysis. For example, patients
with coronary disease are not suitable for hemodialysis. Therefore, avoidance of
complications can help to broaden their scope of choice.
Secondly, choose the best time for dialysis. The optimal condition for
patients with CKD to receive dialysis is when endogenous creatinine(High Creatinine Level) clearance
rate decreases to 15ml/minute (no more than fifteen percent of renal functions
are normal). Build-up of masses of toxin and water in the body can give rise to
severe heart disease, apoplexy and some other diseases. If patients with CKD
start dialysis late, those diseases will become more serious and it is hard for
patients to control. Therefore, receiving dialysis earlier is beneficial for
patients with CKD to control their disease.
Thirdly, receive treatment positively and prevent or delay the appearance of
uremia. For most of the patients with CKD, if they can not be given timely and
effectively treatment, their disease will cause chronic renal failure. For
example, Diabetes, Hypertension and Lupus Erythematosus all can cause CKD, and
they have become the common root causes of uremia. Thereby, in our daily life,
patients with CKD should receive treatment positively, so as to avoid or delay
the occurrence of uremia.
Fourthly, have a scientific arrangement of diet. Reasonable diet can help
patients with CKD protect the remaining renal function. For instance, patients
with CKD should get out of ingesting too much protein, salt and water.
Overtaking of these will exacerbate signs of CKD. In addition, protein ingested
by patients with CKD should be high-quality protein. In our daily life,
high-quality protein is mainly contained by fish, lean meat and egg white.
Furthermore, if patients with CKD have decided to receive dialysis, then
knowing about the basic course is undergoing dialysis is also necessary.
However, dialysis is just a way of helping patients remove waste products from
their body, and it can not help to restore impaired renal function. Therefore,
for patients with CKD, if they want to get radically recovery, they should
choose an effective treatment.
