The Relationship between Hypertension and Chronic Kidney Disease(CKD).

Hypertension is a public health problem all over the world. There are nearly 1 billion hypertension patients (blood pressure >140/90mm Hg) now,and the number is predicted to reach 1.56 billion people in 2025.
Hypertension is the main cause of the occurrence and development of Chronic Kidney Disease. As the world is in the course of the aging of population and the aged tend to have hypertension, diabetes and Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD), the ratio of hypertension(High Blood Pressure and Kidney Disease) among Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) patients is 80% high, or even much higher with the CKD developing.
However, it is not optimistic in the control of hypertension. Though the prevalence rate, the diagnosis rate and the curative rate is improved under the joint effort of government and health department in many countries, it can not be denied that the control rate of hypertension is still low.
SBP (high pressure) or DBP (low pressure), which one is closely connected with kidney disease and cardiovascular disease?
According to the current statistics, people agree that SBP has greater effect on kidney disease and cardiovascular disease than DBP. KEEP research shows that the bad control of blood pressure is mainly the bad control of SBP. Off course, it is also dangerous if the DBP is high.
And what is the ideal blood pressure for Chronic Kidney Disease patients?
It is suggested that the SBP should be under 130mm Hg for Chronic Kidney Disease patients and the DBP should be under 90 mm Hg. The blood pressure control should be much stricter for diabetics, which does good to patients.
