1. Using hormone and cyclophosphamide
Many studies have proved that hormone could reduce albuminuria in IgAN, but
they did not give direct answers that whether it could treat crescentic IgAN
derived from severe pathological types.
By tracing 35 IgAN patients (91% of them have crescents), Japanese scholars
found that hematuria and albuminuria disappeared after the patients had
tonsillectomy and crescents had extremely decreased after repeated
renipunctures. This study preliminarily demonstrated that hormones have a
positive effect on treating crescentic IgA nephropathy.
In order to improve the effects of hormones, many scholars are learning the
effects on the combination of hormones and cyclophosphamide. For example, some
researchers found that it is effective to inhibit the formation of crescents by
using 6-month hormones and oral adminstrations of cyclophosphamide to treat IgAN
patients who have cresents over 20%.
However, it is not identified that which is better to treat severe crescentic
IgAN patients by using hormones or combination therapy.
2. Traditional Chinese Treatment
On the basis of utilizing western meditations like hormones,
cyclophosphamide, and etc., recently arisen Micro-Chinese Medicine Osmotharapy
takes the priority of the protection of the kidneys to repair the impaired renal
tissues, reducing the output of albumin and erythrocytes, and let albuminuria
and hematuria gone. Patients would be not easy to have recurrent albuminuria and
hematuria only if the renal tissues have been comprehensively repaired. The
recurrences of albuminuria and hematuria would burden working load of renal
tissues and continually deteriorate the disease. This would aggravate the
patients’ pathological lesions. Generally, the more severe pathological leisions
are, the more obvious the crescents would be.
Therefore, the major premise to protect kidney is to have negative
albuminuria and hematuria(Hematuria and Kidney Disease). If we allowed albumin and blood to keep leaking, the
substances our boy required could not be fully supplied and the renal damages
would become more. Thus, it is necessary to turn albuminuria and hematuria
negative. Hormones and cytotoxicities may be used in the early stage of the
therapy. The side effects seem important in considering long-term effects.
