Chronic Glomerulonephritis Case Study

Patient: Zhang huaying, Female, 52 years old, Shanxi Province. She was hospitalized on 20 August, 2006
Diagnosis: Chronic Glomerulonephritis, compensatory stage of renal insufficiency, renal anemia, Gall stone, cholecystitis.
Main complaints: Fatigue, decreasing appetite for more than three months.
Medical History: In the first half year of 2006, the patient felt fatigue and poor appetite, but she just ignored it. Three months later, the patient had an increasing serum creatinine and pitting edema in the lower limbs. Then she was sent to the local hospital to receive treatment. And on 20 August, 2006, she came to Shijiazhuang Kidney Disease Hospital.
Physical Examination: Temperature37.3℃, P80t/m, BP 140/85mmHg, Hb 82g/L. Routine Urine Test: BLD -,PRO+-. Renal Function Test: Serum Creatinine(High Creatinine Level): 328umol/L, BUN: 14.43mmol/L, UA: 153.56umol/L. UPQ/24h: 1.84g.
Treatment: After the patient got to the hospital, the doctors had a consultation, and clarified the diagnosis was Chronic Glomerulonephritis. According to the treatment history and the patient’s symptoms, such as severe edema, decreasing appetite, nausea, vomiting, spasm of the hands and feet, biliary colic, difficult breathing, and hypertension etc. the expert thought these symptoms was caused by metabolic acidosis and hypocalcemia, plus the leakage of protein through urine, which can further lead to glomerulosclerosis, and damage of the renal functions. The doctors adopted Western medicines to control her complications like hypertension, anemia etc, and Micro-Chinese Medicine Osmotherapy to treat the disease from repairing the damaged kidney cells. The functions of the Micro-Chinese Medicine Osmotherapy is promoting blood circulation and removing obstruction in channels, eliminating blood stasis, and repairing. At the same time, the patient persisted a proper diet, low-salt, low-phosphorous, low- potassium, low-fat, high-quality low-protein and high fiber diet. The patient gradually became better.
After 21 days of hospitalization, the patient felt good enough to leave hospital. Physical examination: T36.7℃ P 77t/m, BP 125/80mmHg, Hb82g/L. The patient had a stable blood pressure, a better appetite, and the symptoms of nausea, vomiting, edema, stuffiness, fatigue etc all became relieved.
After the patient was discharged from the hospital, the doctor in charge will gave her a call every week to follow up her condition. At present, the doctor’s condition is stable and normal.
Expert comment: Micro-Chinese Medicine Osmotherapy is a method that focuses on the root that caused the disease. There are three courses for Micro-Chinese Medicine Osmotherapy to treat the kidney diseases. The first course is promoting blood circulation and removing obstruction in channels, and improving the blood supply of the kidney. After this course, the condition of ischemia and anoxia can be improved, and renal anemia can be corrected. The effective perfusion of the glomerulus is increased, so the internal pressure of the glomerulus is decreased, and the high filtration condition is also decreased, so the glomerulosclerosis process can be delayed. The expanding of the blood vessels can increase the blood circulation of the whole body so the patients can get a better appetite, and nausea and vomiting disappear. The second course is eliminating the kidney nidus. After the medicines get to the nidus, they can degrade or break the nidus and then eliminate them completely. This can increase expelling of toxins and make preparations for the next procedure. After this course the serum creatinine will decrease and the urine will become turbid. The third course is repairing, which is the final aim of this method. The medicines can repair the remained kidney cells, and then make all the indexes come to normal. This course may take a long term.

After this treatment, the patients’ condition can become better.
